Prayer:

If I am me and the only me
That all time and space will ever see,
Let the me that is always me
Be all the me you ever want me to be,
Unless you are you and the only you
Who stand twixt man and the local zoo,
And your DNA runs absolute true
To Neanderthals, of which quite a few,
Wander freely in Congress in the US of A
And believe that theirs is the only way,
And use their guns, courtesy of the NRA,
To support dire logic, to the world’s dismay.
But if you are you and rather like me,
Who ninety nine percent of humanity be,
Let us join together in pure rational seas,
And wash these oafs back up to their trees.
Let us do it, though, as fast as we can,
For these primitives see not the demise of man,
And will destroy the forests where they should dwell
Consigning us, the sane, to a poor planet of Hell.
